芳綸纖維全稱為"聚對苯二甲酰對苯二胺",英文為Aramid fiber（杜邦公司的商品名為Kevlar），是一種新型高科技合成纖維，具有超高強(qiáng)度、高模量和耐高溫、耐酸耐堿、重量輕等優(yōu)良性能,其強(qiáng)度是鋼絲的 5～6倍 ，模量為鋼絲或玻璃纖維的2～3倍，韌性是鋼絲的2倍，而重量僅為鋼絲的1/5左右，在560度的溫度下，不分解，不融化。它具有良好的絕緣性和抗老化性能，具有很長的生命周期。芳綸的發(fā)現(xiàn)，被認(rèn)為是材料界一個(gè)非常重要的歷史進(jìn)程。
芳綸水刺無紡布含有芳綸纖維高撕裂強(qiáng)力，防火隔熱的功能。是相關(guān)高熱，高強(qiáng)工作防護(hù)服的首選。
